Chief Robert B. Wieners

Bad for Friendswood, Texas

Friendswood deserves better.

Chief Wieners' FPD History

In the News:

According to an article published by FREE PRESS HOUSTON, the Hacker collective Anonymous revealed the inner communications of Chief Wieners and his department via emails. In a 2008 email, Wieners refers to a female suspect who started a car chase near the intersection of Yale and 610 as a “stupid bitch” who “got what she deserved.” Wieners then goes on to state “I’ll bet she was fat and black too.”

In the News:

In 2001, the citizens of Friendswood, TX questioned the City’s decision to quickly promote Wieners as Police Chief according to an article written for the Houston Chronicle. “Wieners apparent quick promotion through the FPD ranks to become assistant to the chief in less than a year troubles some Friendswood residents.” says the article. “And now he has already been named the city’s new chief of police“.

What does the community have to say?

"They pulled their guns on my son in my driveway back in 2005. His crime: driving in Texas with IL tags, since he just moved back. Imagine having a gun aimed at you for a Non-crime when you're 20 yrs old. No reason for this type of behavior in this lily white community."
-Steven B.
"When I was 17 my boyfriend and friends got pulled over. We pulled into a gas station and the cops pulled guns on us. We had to lay on the ground. I was in a cast and had surgery 9 days ago. They told me, 'they don't care'. We got pulled over because the driver threw something out the window. We assured them he didn't. 45 minutes searching the car and us they found nothing. They got sssooo mad."
-Rachel L.
"Chief weiners is one of the most corrupt police ever. I could sworn he planted something in one of my friends car. Just to charge em. They use illegal means to do anything as a kid this cop comes up to me on a bike, I was 16 at the time, so I was young looking kid. He asked me what I was doing and where I was going and I answered aand as I was answering he was patting me down without even asking me. Teach the ways of the law to your kids people, cause they target young kids"
-Blake H.
"I have been pro FPD for yrs but definitely am having a change of heart. I see them too often searching automobiles mostly with at least 3 police vehicles. I have seen this for years but it seems to have gotten worse. Maybe the citizens are not providing enough bad activities for them to investigate so they are going out there way to harass folks leaving a restaurant that is standing up to the man & not closing their doors because of a virus"
-Danial N.
"I was pulled over one night in Friendswood heading home because I was driving 'too fast for comfort' through an intersection ( not even 5 mph over). She asked if I had been drinking and I said, 'no- I'm 7 months pregnant.' They are super strict in Friendswood."
-Ashley P.
"I was harassed for almost 3 years by the same police officers in Friendswood for absolutely nothing. I finally had to move out of the city, I work in the oil field side and leave my house at 2:30 or 3 to drive to Louisiana on a daily basis and of course they would harass me for an hour every morning because I was out early morning"
-Robert G.
"FPD tried to plant evidence on me in 2007 and also tried to get me to rat people out for them. It was all bogus up to and including the initial traffic stop. I was told the license plate light was out but it was clearly working when they sat me on the ground handcuffed. FPD are snakes period point blank!!!!"
-Christi G.
"As someone who has dealt with the FPD in a wrongful arrest, I can assure you the mentality and rude behavior as well as the aggressiveness of SEVERAL FPD officers and their treatment of people they choose to target is horrendous. There is a LOT of holier than thou behavior and 'untouchable' mentality in the FPD that I witnessed first hand. The picking and choosing of which kid to protect and which one to brush off is devastating. Please people, pay attention to what is happening to these business owners and keep a care eye on what they are doing."
-Elizabeth L.
"I absolutely love living in my little City of Friendswood, but I have always noticed the patrol officers appear a bit heavy handed. Takes two or three cars for a simple traffic stop and more often than not they have everyone out of the car. I see it regularly. This is pure harrassment and I sincerely hope you have some video evidence of being arrested for 'running you big mouth'. Extremely unprofessional"
-Scott A.
"Not surprised. On a jury once where FPD was involved. Based on evidence presented, FPD severly embellished. It appeared that FPD didn't even have probable cause to pull defendant over. Video evidence presented refuted all of FPD claims. Honestly, Jurors had suspicions that FPD planted a small amount of drugs in the defendant's vehcile for which he was charged. Myself and 11 other jurors found the defendant not guilty."
-Sharon R.
"Friendswood PD has to be investigate and exposed for not only this harrassment, but MANY other injustices they've committed at least that I'm aware of over the past 22 years that I've lived here. It's getting way out of hand with these police officers!! Not all cops are bad but PLEASE HELP US EXPOSE THE BAD ONES!!!"
-Zee S.
"They let there authority get to there heads and get mad when they can't do anything. I'm 21 and got pulled over in Friendswood for my tail light (which was working perfectly fine when I checked) anyways, I had a cooler in the passenger seat and they wanted to look in it sooo bad and the first cop that asked what was in the cooler, I replied nicely saying 'just some waters' then the woman cop gave me attitude saying she wanted to check it so I said no! And they got SOOO aggressive they had about 5 cop cares pull up and then had the super visor pull up all for NOTHING! They couldn't search my car or do anything. They were so mad when I drove away. Friendswood cops are hilarious, you just gotta play them with kindness."
-Brenda P.
"I used to live in Alvin and would always fear going to Friendswood because of the ridiculous police activity."
-Michael D.
"FPD is EVIL! If you 're a young man driving through Friendswood they'll pull you over and question you and probably search your car too for no reason other than you're a young man and therefore suspect to them for drugs. My son died this past April, Det. McCannis of FPD called me after seeing social media posts about his death and told me without a doubt my son died of a Fentinal overdose. It flipped me and my family out. Two months later the autopsy and toxicology report came back clean. He died from an unknown heart failure and his BLOOD WAS CLEAN. The detective lied to me trying to get info for his investigation into several Fentinal deaths in Friendswood where my son grew up. Now I know why my kids and their friends told me not to trust FPD."
-Andy M.
"I've delt with FPD harassment MANNYY times when I lived in forest bend area, they love to creep around the neighborhood and specifically target teens, people of color, hispanics etc. All family members experienced some type of harassment from them in the years we lived in that neighborhood. They would stop us many times for 'no turn signal' or something stupid and irrelvant reason that was NOT true it was just to get someones information, search the car for NO liable reason and arrested because we 'asked too many questions and are failing to cooperate which is like resisting' yet got pulled over for no REAL reason. Blinker signal WAS put, nothing was in the car my boyfriend at the time was simply coming home from his LUNCH BREAK. He had one hour to eat and the officer took that whole hour and ended up arresting him because he didn't understand why the officer was treating him this way. The officer said he was 'resisting' but he just saw a hispanic behind the wheel and thought well i'm bored lets have some fun and make this our prey."

"Harassed by chief wieners. Being arrested by FPD 5 times. 6 citations in 10 months. Every single one of them was dismissed. When I went to City Hall meeting to tell them about what’s going on with this harassment, they asked me to leave the meeting. They said I am not allowed to complain about chief wieners."

"I believe that an effective police force is important & just, but not when the force has been corrupt & no longer fully serving the people that put it in power. The government is here to serve the people. I’m not sure the chief has full control over his “team.” When I was 18, my spouse & I went to a party. We were saying goodbye to friends before college. We had NOTHING to drink. Chief Wieners & his force eventually showed up & gained access to the home, which is located in Friendswood. The cops under his guidance mistreated the homeowners daughter, who had let them into the home. She had not been at the party. She drove to the home to allow them access. The mistreatment was most likely due to her race; which was apparent to most party goers. They made everyone at the party take a breathalyzer test without allowing them to know their rights. When my spouse & I blew a 0 on the breathalyzer, Chief Wieners told the officer breathalyzing us to put an asterisk on our ticket… not sure what it indicated exactly. We hadn’t been drinking as stated; we assume that’s what the symbol would’ve indicated. Either way the officer told him NO and did not include the asterisks on our tickets. Cannot remember her name. It was a woman. We had to go to court & the charge ended up being removed. Either way - the situation was blown WAY out of proportion, there was mistreatment of someone who legitimately helped them gain access to the home due to her race (which the cops never had to deal with), people were charged unfairly, and his officers would not listen to him. How can we trust FPD or their chief Wieners if he has no control over them & what they do? Reform needs to happen to FPD. They’re only there to SERVE the people, not act as a corrupt force against the people. I understand the laws, but I’m 3rd generation Friendswood & the police have gotten out of control."
